VILA – E-learning – 360° Camera: Use and Data

The aim of the course on 360 video data is to provide you with knowledge about how to utilize some of the latest methods of capturing video. A specific focus will be given to 360° cameras, as we believe that they present new, interesting possibilities in regards to qualitative video data collection that you should be aware of when planning your qualitative study using video cameras.

The course uses an article by professor Paul McIlvenny as an introduction to using big video data.

McIlvenny, P. (2018). Inhabiting spatial video and audio data. Towards a scenographic turn in the analysis of social interaction. Social interaction. Video-based studies of human sociality, 2(1).

The article is accessible here.
