About:

The aim of this one-day digital humanities workshop is to bring together researchers and scholars from history, cultural studies, literacy studies, and computer science to explore the innovative applications of cutting-edge methodologies in humanities studies. This immersive event is designed to spark enlightening discussions, foster interdisciplinary collaborations, and equip attendees with invaluable tools to unlock the potential of textual analysis and visualization.

Topics and speakers include:

  • From unearthing to mapping: toward an holistic digital approach to historical texts: Aglae Pizzone, Professor, Department of Culture and Language, SDU
  • Visual Storytelling for Text Re-use Analytics: Stefan Jänicke, Professor, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, SDU
  • Detecting text-reuse in the works of Hans Christian Andersen:
    • Zhiru Sun, Associate Professor, Department of Design, Media, and Educational Science
    • Tariq Yousef, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science
    • Holger Berg, Special Consultant, The Hans Christian Andersen Center
  • Poster sessions involved scholars from various fields
