Participate in the DM Forum survey for developing a Data Stewardship education in Denmark

We would appreciate your help in developing a Data Stewardship education in Denmark.

The project “National Coordination of Data Stewardship Education in Denmark” is an ongoing joint effort from many Danish universities (AAU, AU, CBS, ITU, KU, RUC, SDU) and the national archives, and is supported by the National Data Management Forum (DM-Forum) and DEIC.

Why this survey?

Whether employed in the corporate or in the university realm, a Data Steward (DS) is in a unique position of trust who must ensure that the data management practices of the organization follow established governance policies, standards or best practices.

The DS may be defined either as a main stakeholder in developing such data governance strategies or policies, or as the person who implements these rules into daily practice.

Organizations vary greatly in terms of their skills and expertise regarding the rules and procedures around data governance and management. Therefore, we need your help to define the range of activities, skills and practice for a DS in the Danish reality.

Who can participate in the survey?

The target audience for this survey are people employed in all types of data driven environments and at all levels across an organisation. This includes people who work with the practicalities of data, including, but not limited to, producing data, data analysis and data management, and people who work in administrative and managerial roles in organisations that work with data.

You can find the survey here: https://www.survey-xact.dk/LinkCollector?key=N59YKVCNL111

The survey will run until September 10 with the possibility of extension. It takes about 10 minutes to answer.

All participants who complete the survey have the option to enter a raffle with a chance to win one of three copies of the following book:

Mons, B. (2018). Data Stewardship for Open Science: Implementing FAIR Principles. Boca Raton: CRC Press, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.

The results are tallied anonymously and you only need to provide you email if you’re interested in prize eligibility.

Thank you very much for your participation. We are looking very much forward to your response!
